Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join a growing finance team within an established business.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you’ll take full ownership of the Accounts Payable function, managing the day-to-day AP process while acting as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced AP professional who enjoys taking ownership, working independently and having a real impact on the finance function.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

• Taking full ownership of the Accounts Payable function
• Processing and posting high-volume supplier invoices
• Managing supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
• Completing supplier and nominal ledger reconciliations
• Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships
• Preparing and processing payment runs
• Posting journals and maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting month-end close and reconciliations
• Assisting with audit queries and finance reporting
• Identifying opportunities to improve and streamline AP processes
• Supporting the Finance Director and wider finance team with ad-hoc requirements

About You

• 3+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable
• Strong understanding of the full AP lifecycle
• Experience with supplier reconciliations and month-end
• Strong Excel and accounting systems experience
• Xero experience advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills
• Must have the right to work in Ireland
